New York City, NY — November 21, 2025 — Monarch proudly announces the winners of the inaugural Monarch Crown Awards, celebrating OB/GYNs who are redefining excellence in women’s health through compassion, leadership, and innovation.
Dr. Kudzai Dombo has been named the recipient of the “Excellence in Patient Care” Award, and Dr. Gloria Richard-Davis has been named the recipient of the “Excellence in Mentorship” Award. These honorees embody the values at the heart of Monarch’s mission: to champion physicians who listen deeply, lead boldly, and elevate the standard of care for women everywhere.
Dr. Dombo is being recognized for her unwavering commitment to compassionate, individualized care and the profound impact she has on her patients’ lives. A board-certified OB/GYN and menopause expert, she serves as Director of Advocacy and Outreach and a prescribing physician at Alloy Women’s Health, where she helps women navigate midlife and the menopausal transition with clarity and confidence.
Shaped by a global upbringing between Rochester, New York, and Harare, Zimbabwe, Dr. Dombo brings a deep understanding of the ways culture, access, and lived experience influence women’s health. She combines evidence-based hormone therapy with a holistic approach that emphasizes nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and supplements, ensuring her patients feel seen, heard, and supported. She is especially dedicated to improving the health of Black women in the U.S., advocating for earlier, better-supported menopause care and closing longstanding gaps in access, education, and outcomes.
As her nominator shared, Dr. Dombo “meets women where they are, listens without judgment, and turns complex science into practical, hopeful guidance that women can actually use in their daily lives.”
Dr. Gloria Richard-Davis is celebrated for her enduring commitment to mentorship, academic leadership, and advancing health equity in women’s health and reproductive endocrinology. A double board-certified physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, she has spent more than three decades guiding the next generation of clinicians while driving progress in reproductive medicine. Her visionary leadership across academia, clinical practice, and national initiatives continues to expand opportunities for underrepresented physicians and improve access to equitable reproductive care.
One colleague noted: “[She] has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents, and faculty—many of whom have become national and international leaders in women’s health and health equity. Through her guidance and advocacy, she has redefined mentorship as a force for systemic change.”
“The Monarch Crown Awards honor the kind of leadership medicine needs most right now—rooted in empathy, courage, and connection,” said Dr. Suzanne Gilberg, Chief Clinical Officer at Monarch. “Dr. Dombo and Dr. Richard-Davis remind us that excellence in women’s health isn’t defined only by clinical outcomes, but by the humanity we bring to every interaction. Their work embodies what happens when physicians refuse to accept ‘good enough’ and instead model the compassion and mentorship that heal medicine from the inside out.”
Each winner receives a $3,000 Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts gift card, offering a restorative experience in recognition of their extraordinary dedication to their patients, peers, and profession.
